T.Loops CEO Staffan Stymne at stage
At this year's DCD Madrid, our CEO Staffan Stymne, had the privilege of sharing his expertise on Turning Data Centers into Energy Plants by integrating the Energy requirements of Data Center, Real Estate, and the Power Grid. Staffan will share the T.Loop concept, showing how data centers can become a solution to the green energy transition.
The IEA's latest report, Electricity 2024 projects an alarming surge in data center energy usage. By 2026, data centers could double annual electricity consumption compared to 2022 and reach staggering 1000 TWh, equivalent to approximately 2,5 % of the world's total electricity consumption. This surge is fueled by the exponential growth of data, decline of Moores Law, coupled with the expanding utilization of AI and blockchain technologies.
However, amidst these challenges lies an opportunity for transformation. With a circular business model, data centers have the potential to become energy contributors to society, playing a pivotal role in the green energy transition.
